Thank you to our many donors!
Amazing things happen when young people are provided with the necessary elements to reach their potential.
Ways to give
Cash gifts
A gift of cash (either outright or through a multi-year pledge) is an effective way to support Minnesota 4-H. You can realize tax savings by deducting cash gifts from your taxable income (requires that you itemize your deductions). Make checks payable to the Minnesota 4-H Foundation or give online now.
Appreciated stock and other appreciated securities
Appreciated stocks or securities can be especially advantageous gifts by usually offering better tax advantages than donating cash. Your contribution is figured at the current market value of the stock or security, and by giving stocks directly you can avoid capital gains tax that you would pay if you sold them directly. For more information, email us at fdnstaff@umn.edu or call Cara Miller at 1-612-624-8132.
Real estate
You can save taxes if you make a gift of real property to the Minnesota 4-H Foundation. You are credited with a contribution valued at fair market value of the real estate, which is determined by a real estate appraiser. For more information, email us at fdnstaff@umn.edu or call Cara Miller at 1-612-624-8132.
Bequests
Gifts by will, whether in the form of cash, securities, or other property, may be fully deducted in determining federal estate taxes and state death taxes. You may designate a specific sum as a gift to Minnesota 4-H, or a portion of the remainder of your estate after provisions for survivors are fulfilled, or a combination of these. The Minnesota 4-H Foundation has a full set of guidelines and suggested wording that can be used for gifts made by will. We will be happy to send those materials to you upon request. For more information, email us at fdnstaff@umn.edu or call Cara Miller at 1-612-624-8132.
Life income gifts
Life income gifts mean you irrevocably assign cash, securities, or other assets to Minnesota 4-H. Those assets are then invested by the Foundation to pay a percentage or fixed amount to you. Charitable gift annuities are a popular form of life income gifts. For more information, email us at fdnstaff@umn.edu or call Cara Miller at 1-612-624-8132.
Gifts-in-kind
The Minnesota 4-H Foundation can receive certain valuable gifts of property or equipment for which we have a use in connection with its mission. For more information, email us at fdnstaff@umn.edu or call Cara Miller at 1-612-624-8132.
