4-H Adult Scholarship: Workforce Re-entry

Application deadline: May 1, 2011

Purpose of Scholarship

To provide an annual $2000 scholarship to an adult who meets the selection criteria, for training or retraining at an institution of higher learning in preparation for re-entry into the workforce or re-training for job transition. This award will be given to an adult who is retooling him or herself for the workforce.

Size and Frequency of Award

A $2,000 scholarship will be awarded once a year. When investment earnings from the Minnesota 4-H Foundation Endowment fund yield more than $2,000, they will be reinvested until such a time a second $2,000 scholarship can be awarded. If not enough funds exist for both scholarships, they can be awarded in the amount of $1,000. The fund will be reevaluated every five years to determine whether current costs warrant upgrading the scholarship(s). When this scholarship was begun in 1997, it awarded two of them per year.

One $2,000 scholarship will be awarded.
