The meeting was called to order by Chair, Cathy Steinmetz, at 10:42 a.m.  Everyone present introduced themselves.

Secretary's Report
M/S/C (Laurie/Jeff) to accept the minutes of the February 26, 2000 meeting as printed.

Treasurer's Report
None available

State of the Union - Brad
Brad shared with us an organizational chart showing our position in the 4-H chain of command.  He also went over the unofficial Dog PDC history and previous issues, such as financial situations.  Brad went over his style: opinionated, likes surveys and input from others, and feels it is vital to remember the member.  His expectations of the PDC include dedication, commitment, communication, and no personal agendas.  Some emerging issues for the committee include committee representation issues, by-laws review, judge's committee priority with a goal of tripling the number of certified judges, agility growth, and committee functionality.

Standing Committee Reports
Electronic mail groups (list serves) have been setup by Tammy.  There are separate lists for the PDC, the agility committee, judges certification committee, show committee, and showmanship/obedience committee.  Everyone needs to keep Tammy updated of their email address.

Agility - Cathy

• Judges training and certification this weekend.  15 people signed up desiring to be certified.

• No report

• They will be meeting tomorrow.  Their goals are to find a site for the certification in Moorhead, set a date, determine the actual certification process, decide officers and when terms end, determine the recertification process, and plan to have a certification session each year.

• Committee hasn't met, but we discussed some of the ideas that Kelly had prepared.  Nancy Holmseth and Marlene Keller joined the committee.

• Deadline next Friday for names to Brad or Tammy of possible State Show assistant coordinators
• Finalized committee overview, show planning sheets, award criteria, and selected judges
• Decided to change from trophies to leather plaques, need committee members to find donors
• Regionals will again have rosettes for those state qualifiers that are not champion or reserve.  This year state will have rosettes for champion and reserve.

Project Bowl - Tammy

• Regional - 17 Junior teams, 11 Senior teams; increase in numbers from last year
• Bowl Committee - Cindy Stover is coordinator; Kelly Edgar writes questions

• Approximately 30 adults and 50 kids (60 dogs) have pre-registered
• Expecting to make money

• Need to contact her and also NEED volunteers from other areas of state
• 1st weekend of fair for 3 days, August 24-26

• South - Sept. 16 hosted by Freeborn Co. in Albert Lea (City Arena)
• Central - Sept. 23 hosted by Anoka Co. in Champlin Park
• North - Sept. 16 hosted by Beltrami Co. in Bemidji

• Agility - Friday, October 20
• Obedience & Showmanship - Saturday, October 21
• Need State Show assistant coordinator
• Need Agility assistant coordinator - refer to Agility Committee

• Need each committee chairs to notify Tammy when members change so remains accurate
• Committee overviews online
