Creating a welcoming 4-H environment: Engaging, encouraging, and respectful
Being part of a group, where youth feel welcomed and respected is a priority in 4-H club and group environments. A welcoming environment results in young people who are actively engaged and feel valued. This training covers four parts of a welcoming environment: safety, support, interaction and engagement.

The 4-H learning environment
When young people join a 4-H program they join for fun - but learning is the result. They learn about life skills, communications, problem solving and decision making through their projects and activities. What they learn through 4-H will help them in future careers and relationships.

4-H project leaders: Where the action starts
4-H has a large range of projects - and for members, projects can be the most important part of 4-H. 4-H’ers plan their projects, and once they're complete, share their learning and accomplishments in various ways in their community. But a project is just a way of learning independence, generosity, mastery and belonging. 4-H volunteers guide young people in this process. That’s an important responsibility.

Managing 4-H clubs: A guide for club leaders
Club leaders have a very important role. You are a mentor, a motivator for young people, an organizer and coordinator with other adults in your club, and a liaison with the larger 4-H organization in your area. Extension staff designed this module to help with some of the typical management issues in 4-H clubs and bring all these pieces together to build an environment where young people thrive and grow.
