Adult leader awards
4-H Horse Association Friends of 4-H
Many individuals outside of our 4-H family support the Minnesota 4-H Horse Association. This award recognizes up to five of them each year for their contributions to our state programs and events. Nominations are submitted by members of the association board of directors. Winners are selected by the board's executive committee. Plaques are awarded during the Minnesota 4-H State Horse Show. Recipients' contributions are reported on this website.
Eligibility and selection process:
- Nominees must have contributed time, goods or money to Minnesota State 4H Horse Project events.
- Nominees may not be 4-H volunteers working with the horse project.
- Names are submitted by members of the board; the executive board selects the nominees to recognize.
4-H Horse Project County All Star Volunteer award
Each county may select one person per year for this award from among the adult volunteers supporting their horse project. Each county determines its own selection process, and submits the name to the the state horse committe via their county or regional office by July 1. County award winners are listed in the Minnesota 4-H State Horse Show program and receive a certificate from the Minnesota 4H Horse Association. Winners who are present at the State Horse Show awards presentation will be asked to stand for recognition. This is a new award replacing the Green Blood Award, which was retired in 2008.
Eligibility and selection process:
- Selection is determined by each county.
- The individual must be an adult volunteer for the 4-H Horse Project in the county.
- Award winner names (with the county name) need to be sent by the county or regional Office to Mary Brugger by July 1 to be included in that year's state horse show program listing.
