What type of activities does BLU offer me?
BLU is full of opportunities!
- Meet and make new friends with youth from across Minnesota.
- Learn from hands-on workshops.
- Gain new leadership and communication skills to bring back to your community.
- Have tons of fun at the dance, small group gatherings, and much more!
Who can attend?
All youth (non-4-H youth are encouraged to participate) enrolled in grades 6-12 and college first year students. Registrations are contingent on appropriate chaperone coverage. If you are interested in volunteering or know somebody who is, please contact your county Extension office. Registrations from each county must be accompanied by the chaperone's name before the registration for participants will be accepted. The right is reserved to refuse registration if appropriate coverage is not provided. Refunds will be issued if the registration is refused.
How much does it cost and how do I register?
The cost to register for BLU in 2014 is $85. The fee covers all meals, lodging, activities and supplies. An optional conference t-shirt is available for $12. Some counties may have scholarship funds available; please inquire directly with your county. Current 4-H members and volunteers can register through their county Extension office or directly on 4HOnline (https://mn.4honline.com). Instructions for registering are available here.

Weather cancellation policy: As we know, Minnesota's winter weather can often provide us with many surprises. We will do our best to reschedule any event that is cancelled due to inclement weather. In the event a rescheduling is not possible, a $20 program fee may be deducted from the registration fee to cover actual expenses, though we will work to make this as minimal as possible. If a t-shirt is ordered, it will be available either via postal mail, or through the county Extension office by the end of March.
Refund policy: Cancellations made after January 13 will be eligible for a partial refund of $40. However, substitutions are allowed. Please contact your County Extension Office immediately if a substitution is made.
