Work with Youth Development

The Extension Center for Youth Development's team of professionals is dedicated to making a measurable difference in the quality, availability, and impact of out-of-school time, non-formal learning opportunities for Minnesota youth ages 6 to 18. We deliver youth programs, train youth workers, conduct research, and shape the way organizations, communities, and systems think about youth development and helping young people to learn, lead, and contribute.

We deliver the following premier programs:

  • Minnesota 4-H develops and delivers non-formal, out-of-school-time learning opportunities to more than 113,000 youth throughout Minnesota every year.
  • The Youth Work Institute develops and delivers education, training, and professional development for adults who work with and on behalf of Minnesota youth.
