Initial certification for food managers
This course meets Certified Food Manger requirements of the Minnesota Department of Health and includes latest FDA Food Code updates.
We use the ServSafe® certification course developed by the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation. The seven-hour course is followed by an exam consisting of 90 questions. Pass the test with 75% and you can process your paperwork for certification.
Topics include: food safety's impact on the operation, the flow of food through the operation and managing your operation.
Audience
Recommended for personnel in restaurants, grocery store delis, resort and hotel kitchens and other foodservice establishments. Course satisfies the education requirement for Food Manager Certification.
Formats
- In person: Includes the ServSafe® textbook, class materials, and 90-question exam. See when it's scheduled.
- In person (Spanish): Includes textbook, class materials, and exam in a four-part series format for Spanish speakers. Learn more about the course in Spanish.
- Online: Includes video, narration, animation, and interactive exercises for hands-on learning. Exam must be taken in person. Learn more about the online course.
Schedule and registration
Registration deadline is 2 weeks prior to course. Course will be cancelled if fewer than 15 participants are registered, but participants will be given the opportunity to attend another location or receive a full refund.
Cancellations by the participant must be received 14 days in advance to receive a refund, minus a $20 cancellation fee. After this time, participants may send someone in their place, or transfer to another one of our classes at no extra cost.
