Certification renewal for food managers
This course meets certification renewal requirements of the Minnesota Department of Health. We use the award winning Serve It Up Safely™ course developed by University of Minnesota Extension Educators. The four-hour, hands-on, interactive course is packed with useful information on topics such as food safety and personal hygiene; emerging trends in food preparation and handling; sanitation; and preventing foodborne illness.
Audience
Personnel of foodservice establishments who need to renew their Food Manager Certification. Certifications require 4 hours of renewal education every three years.
Formats
- In person: Includes class and course materials. See when it's scheduled.
- Online: Interactive with videos, quizzes, and case studies to keep you engaged. At the end of each module, you will print a certificate worth one clock hour. Learn more about the online course.

Schedule and registration

July - December 2013 — View and print a registration form and brochure (458 K PDF)
Register online using credit card, check, electronic transfer, or U of M budget.
Registration deadline is 2 weeks prior to course. In the event that trainings are cancelled due to low registration, participants will be given the opportunity to attend another location or receive a full refund.
Cancellations by the participant must be received 14 days in advance to receive a refund. There will be a $20 cancellation fee. After this time, participants may send someone in their place, or transfer to another one of our classes at no extra cost.
