Where is the soybean cyst nematode found?
The soybean cyst nematode (SCN), Heterodera glycines, has been found in most soybean-producing areas in the world. The SCN was first found in North America in North Carolina in 1954 and since then has spread to at least 31 soybean-producing states (Fig. 1) and Canada. In Minnesota, SCN was first detected in 1978 in Faribault County. By 2010, its presence had been confirmed in 64 counties in the state (Fig. 2).
