About Corn Production Extension

Research you can use: from crop rotations to irrigation to silage management
Each year, corn is planted on about eight million acres in Minnesota. That's around nine percent of the total U.S. corn acreage. University of Minnesota Extension's corn production program advances this important industry by working with growers to increase productivity and profitability while minimizing economic and environmental risks.
What we offer
Extension shares the latest information on corn grain and silage trials throughout the state; produces numerous articles and updates on hybrid selection; provides research results on various planting strategies; and delivers education on stand establishment issues, replanting, corn diseases, management of insects and weeds, crop rotation, irrigation, silage management, harvesting, and grain drying and storage.
